President Donald Trump stated that violent movies and video games are responsible about school shootings. However, the facts are proving him wrong.
After Florida’s school mass shooting Trump made a speech in which he stated that in order to solve the issue, teachers should be armed with gun, and he blamed movies and video games.
Donald Trump seems to be supporting the gun industry, while blaming video games and movies just because something has to be blamed. However, the facts are showing that video games aren’t affecting behavior at all, but instead, Video Games could benefit health.
Trump VS Facts
The president told Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi that “I’m hearing more and more people seeing the level of violence in video games is really shaping young people’s thoughts.
“And then you go the further step, and that’s the movies. You see these movies, and they’re so violent a kid is able to see the movie if sex isn’t involved, but killing is involved, and maybe we need to put a rating system for that.
“The fact is that you are having movies come out, that are so violent, with the killing and everything else, that maybe that’s another thing we need to discuss.”

He stated that we will need a “rating” system about video games, but that’s irrational; as we already have a rating system for video games, it’s called ESRB.
Trump got paid by the NRA
Note that Trump received over $30 million from the NRA during his presidential campaign, an organization funded in large part by small arms manufacturers.
After Florida’s school mass shooting Trump made a speech about gun violence, in which he stated that in order to solve the issue, teachers should be armed with gun.
From that we understand that he just need to blame something else about gun violence, and that happens to be movies and video games.
