How the Education System Failed Us

Everyone is born creative, but it is educated out of us at school.

Why School is outdated

The educational system changed little over the last hundred years or so, it was designed in 19th/early 20th century to prepare children for the industrial age.

Today, the educational system almost makes no sense. We don’t need people-robots anymore, we have actual robots now.

ADHD & ADD

The ADHD and ADD disorders have been increasing, especially the recent years. However, some scientists think that these are not really “disorders”. Sure, some people may have actual hyperactivity issues.

Most of the time, children diagnosed with ADHD or ADD are usually the result of the educational system itself, which tries to “robotize” them in many ways.

Personalized Learning

Today, school is taking away children’s creativity and imagination, by operating in a industrialized way. It’s not accidental, that the most successful people (Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, etc) choose to follow their passion, instead of finishing university.

Special People

These are people that are hyper-sensitive to everything. They got a higher understanding of what’s going on, and they usually question everything around them. Often, these special people are more creative and they tend to get frustrated and depressed easily.

These people are usually behind breakthroughs in fields like technology. Because they are destined to change things and situations, to challenge society and to be loud in what they see as the flaws in the system.

Tham Khai Meng is one of the world’s most awarded creative directors, he once said:
“Businesses urgently need innovative people, so we must dispel the myth that creativity is something mysterious that cannot be encouraged”

Right now, the school system got more cons than pros. Sooner or later, the educational system should get an upgrade.
